“Broken Vow (Filipino drama),” Sunday at 5 p.m.
Roberto Sebastian falls in love with a country girl, Melissa Santiago. On their wedding day, Roberto learns Melissa was raped and is now pregnant. He cannot live with this, so he abandons her. With her perfect world shattered, Melissa attempts to take her own life only to be saved by Felix Castro. Their love blooms and Felix vows to win Melissa’s trust. But Roberto contemplates reuniting with Melissa. Will she give him a second chance?

“Losing Heaven” (Filipino drama w/ English subtitles), Sunday at 6 p.m.
Ellery and Bridgitte have been best friends since childhood. The best friends become sisters when Bridgitte’s parents die and she is adopted by Ellery’s dad. Their lives and relationship as best friends/sisters continue until Jonas enters their lives.
Starring Carla Abellana, Michelle Madrigal and Mike Tan.

“Strategist Kanbe,” Sunday at 7 p.m.; Tuesday at 8 p.m.
The 2014 Taiga drama, “Strategist Kanbe,” is about the life story of Yoshitaka Kuroda, otherwise known as Kanbei Kuroda, who was the chief strategist for Hideyoshi Toyotomi. Yoshitaka was born on Dec. 22, 1546, and was a daimyo (lord) during the late Sengoku through early Edo periods. (The Sengoku period is often referred to as the warring period and was a time of great social, political and military upheaval.) Kanbe was a brilliant military strategist and faithful to Toyotomi.
Starring Junichi Okada, Miki Nakatani, Kyoheo Shibata, Nao Toda and Raita Ryu.

“Office in the Sky,” Sunday at 8 p.m.
Rika Inaba dreamed about being a reporter from the time she was a child and works in her dream job as a director at the Teito TV Network. However, her aggressive style of interviewing causes her to be transferred against her will to become the co-director of an evening information program.  In her new assignment, Rika is put in charge of a special feature focused on the Self Defense Forces and uniformed personnel. Angry at having her dream destroyed, Rika is determined to make a comeback as a reporter, and searches constantly for whatever scoop may be found in the military.

“Mysteries of Asia,” Sunday at 9 p.m.
Asia is a mix of ancient cultures and fast-growing technology. This program explores cities across Asia, visiting famous landmarks and the hot new nightspots.

“Doko ga TV,” Monday through Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
Pali Ka‘aihue and Sachiko Uchida bring their popular show about all things Japan to KIKU. This family-fun show showcases the best of Japan‘s history, food, lifestyle, people, attractions and pop culture that so many people in Hawai‘i and on the U.S. mainland find interesting.

“Soko ga Shiritai,” Monday through Friday at 7 p.m.
The wildly popular docu-tainment/info-logue that takes you all over Japan seeking out everything from customs, to food and all things interesting. Satisfy your need to know!

“King of the House,” Monday at 8 p.m.
Yosuke Kurumisawa is a popular news anchorman, also known as KING. His interviews are very engaging and he is able to keep his emotional center while  fighting for justice. Kurumisawa has great support from his viewers but prefers to keep his personal life private. At home, he is just your average husband and a father to three children.

“Doubles,” Monday at 9 p.m.; repeats on Tuesday at 1 p.m.
Detectives Yamashita and Tashiro are transferred into Division 0. They both have conflicting views and different personalities. But what they have in common are their sense of righteousness and their compassion for others. They may risk their lives in their fast-paced investigation, but this magnificent duo will always catch the bad guys in the end.

“Mission to Kill (Hissatsu Shigotonin),” Tuesday at 9 p.m.
Shigotonin refers to a team of hired assassins. In this samurai drama consisting of multiple series and specials, police are left to unravel crimes committed by hired assassins. What becomes obvious is that the real criminals are not just the assassins, but the people who hired them.
Starring Noriyuki Higashiyama, Masahiro Matsuoka, Emi Wakui and Makoto Fujita.

“Mystery Theater,” Wednesday, from 8-10 p.m.

“Hidamari no Ki,” Thursday at 8 p.m.
It is 1855, the year following the Treaty of Peace and Amity between the United States and Japan. A 26-year-old samurai, Manjiro Ibuya, has succeeded his father and tries to make a name for himself by training more seriously than everyone else. His efforts irritate the other samurai.

“Investigator Mariko 7,” Thursday at 9 p.m.
Crimes today utilize increasingly clever tricks and techniques. The police and crime laboratories must respond to these crimes quickly and with scientific knowledge. The lab must deal with such diverse tasks as analysis of hair, blood type, DNA, voice pattern and handwriting, as well as polygraphs, the reconstruction of facial features, and superimposing.  The lab forms the main stage for this drama, which follows a female lab agent as she goes about her work. Mariko Sakaki, the main character, practices forensic medicine at the crime laboratory of the Kyoto Prefecture Police Department.

“Ultraman Leo,” Friday at 6:30 p.m.
In the tradition of “Kikaida,” KIKU-TV brings sci-fi, live-action hero drama back to Hawai‘i television! “Ultraman Leo” was produced and first aired in the mid-1970s, and was the seventh show in the Ultra series about warriors from other planets who help defend Earth against monsters and alien invaders.

“Ninja Sarurobi III,” Friday at 8 p.m.; repeats on Saturday at 7 p.m.
In the 1650’s, a young man decides his own fate as he struggles to find his path in life. Sasuke III, grandson of the legendary ninja Sarutobi Sasuke, has lost his way in the world of peaceful living-he is, in effect, a ninja on moratorium. In an unexpected turn of events in which he becomes tangled in a secret plot, he is entrusted with the care of Oici, the daughter of a chief retainer, on her way to Kyoto.

“Japan’s Local Secrets,” Friday at 9 p.m.; repeats on Saturday a 8 p.m.
Although Japan is a relatively small country geographically, each prefecture has its own traditions, dialects, and . . . foods!!! This program takes us to the secret places throughout Japan known to the people of the area and introduces us to things unique to each place.
