Nabeshima Naoshige murders his lord, Ryuzoji Takafusa, seeking to gain power and steal his Lord’s wife. To avoid her fate, Lady Takafusa drowns herself along with her cat in a nearby marsh. A decade later, Naoshige’s efforts to steal another woman trigger a curse on him when she also commits suicide at the same marsh – forcing him to suffer the consequences of his past actions.

“Love Stories from Fukuoka is based on real-life stories submitted by viewers in Fukuoka about thier personal experiences with love, loss and longing. They will warm your heart. Fully subtitled in English.

“Zettai Redido (Absolute Zero),” premieres Wednesday, October 10 at 7:35 p.m.

Previously a detective for public security, Norito Izawa gets transferred to the Documentation Division in the Generl Affairs Department, to become the head of office. Gathered at this Department are people who were uncontrollable at normal police stations. Despite being known as the department for “drifters,” the documentation division in fact has been assigned a major project at its backdrop. Their assignment is to pick up early sign of potential criminal activities and to prevent them before they occur. Fully subtitled in English.

“24 Hours with Big Families, ” Mondays and Tuesdays, at Noon-1 p.m.

The lives and struggles of two large families are profiled in this special. The first family consists of two parents and nine children living in the Nara prefecture. The mom struggles each day to make ends meet and put food on the table on a limited budget, and her stresses are multiplied when the family learns that they must vacate the home they’ve been living in for more than 20 years. Will they be able to find an affordable home that can fit 11 people?

The second family consists of a Japanese father and American mother and their four children who recently moved to a small village in Niigata. The village population has been declining as young people move to the city for jobs. This family is doing the opposite; the father quit his job in the city to try his hand at farming. The family lives in a run-down 50-year-old farmhouse badly in need of repair and comes to rely on the kindness of older residents eager to welcome the young family to their village.
