Shin-Chitose Airport, a gateway to Hokkaido, is used by more than 20 million people every year. Within the airport, there are many restaurants where you can taste the specialties of Hokkaido and delicious seasonal meals. Furthermore, there are also movie theaters and hot springs to relax in. It is called the “staying airport” because you can enjoy it all day. People even wait for one hour  wanting to buy special souvenirs. Let’s enjoy Hokkaido until the last minute before your departure.

“The Land of Dreams: Hokkaido,” airs Wednesday, Jan. 3, at 9 p.m. and Thurday, Jan. 4, at 10 a.m.

“Keiji Yugami (Detective Yugami),” premieres Monday, Jan. 1, at 7:35 p.m.

In a society in which justice is awfully subjective, and the possibility of finding the truth is so complicated, detective Yugami (Tadanobu Asano) simply chases after the facts of various cases. To assist him, he has a sidekick called Torao Hanyu, who’s a serious detective with a completely different personality. Two detectives with absolutely nothing in common somehow try to combine their skills, in order to combat the enemies of society. Fully subtitled in English.

“Akashatsu no Gekishu (Revenge of the Red Shirt),” airs Tuesday, Jan. 2, at 7:35 p.m., 10:30 p.m. and  Wednesday, Jan. 3, at 8:40 a.m.

Soseki Natsume’s “Botchan” was set in Matsuyama, Ehime. In the novel, the mean spirited “red shirt” was modeled after Ishitaro Yokochi. However, Yokochi was a decent and honest man. For more than 100 years, he and his descendants have been stigmatized. Yokochi comes back from the grave to protect the pride of his family. “Red shirt” tries to prove his innocence in court today. Now begins the revenge of the red shirt! Fully subtitled in English.
